Gossner Cine Fest returns in 2026 with a renewed commitment to bold storytelling and creative excellence. Organized by the Department of Mass Communication & Video Production at Gossner College, Ranchi, the festival will take place from April 9th to 11th, 2026.

Every year, the festival brings together student filmmakers, independent creators, and cinema enthusiasts from across India. This edition continues that tradition while expanding opportunities for emerging voices.

Moreover, it encourages filmmakers to explore cultural identity, social issues, and human emotions through impactful visual language.

Unlike many competitive platforms, GCF welcomes films that have already premiered online or offline. Therefore, creators do not need premiere status to participate.

Categories & Entry Fees

Participants are required to pay the applicable entry fee based on the selected category. Please ensure that the submission form is completed accurately with all required materials.

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines

  • To participate, filmmakers must submit original work and hold all necessary rights. In addition, entrants must secure permissions for music, visuals, sound, and talent releases before submission.
  • You can submit films through the official Google Form or FilmFreeway. Accepted preview links include YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, and WeTransfer.
  • While multiple submissions are allowed, each film requires a separate form and fee. Once you submit your film, the festival does not permit withdrawal.
  • If the selection committee chooses your film, you must provide:
  • A high-quality digital file (minimum 1920Γ—1080 Full HD)

  • Trailer, synopsis, brochure, and still photographs (if requested)

  • Furthermore, filmmakers must blur or mute scenes containing excessive violence, animal cruelty, explicit content, or abusive language.

🌍 Language & Format Requirements

  • Participants may submit films in any language. However, films that are not in Hindi or English must include English subtitles.
  • The festival accepts only digital submissions and expects high-quality picture and sound.

βš– Rights, Screening & Copyright

  • By submitting your film, you grant GCF the right to screen it during the festival. Additionally, the festival may use clips or stills for promotional purposes across digital and print platforms.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to accept or reject entries without assigning reasons. Likewise, it may extend deadlines if unforeseen circumstances arise.
  • Films that promote racism, social disharmony, or discrimination against any caste, religion, or community will face rejection. All participants must follow Indian laws, including the Indian Penal Code and media regulations.

Our esteemed jury will evaluate films based on:

  • Originality & Creativity: Unique concepts and fresh perspectives
  • Technical & Artistic Execution: High-quality visuals, sound, and editing
  • Storytelling: Engaging narratives and emotional impact
  • Relevance: Timely and meaningful subject matter
